Looking for the perfect way to celebrate your baby’s first or second birthday? My Cake Smash Photography Sessions in Chester are a wonderful way to mark this special milestone with laughter, mess, and memories you’ll cherish forever.
With over 14 years of experience as a baby and children’s photographer, I offer two unique session styles to suit every family’s vision — whether you’re looking for fun and colour, or something more natural and timeless.
Each session is baby-led and relaxed, allowing time for cuddles, snack breaks, and play. Based in my fully-equipped photography studio in Chester, I provide all the props, outfits, decorations, and the cake – so all you need to do is bring your little one and enjoy the experience.
1st & 2nd Birthday Session

1.Classic Cake Smash Session
This full session lasts around 1.5 hours and is a beautiful blend of styled fun and relaxed portraiture. It includes three parts:

Portraits on a simple background.
We begin with classic portraits of your child while they’re still clean and curious. This is a great time to include family and sibling images if you’d like a few.

The cake smash.
Once your baby is warmed up, we move on to the main event — the cake! You can choose the colour theme of the cake, and I’ll style the background and decorations to match. Some children dive right in, others need a little encouragement — either way, these moments are always full of charm and personality.

Bubble bath splash.
To wrap up the session, we switch to a third setup featuring a sweet, bubbly bath (with duck props if you like!) — the perfect way to clean up and capture those final playful smiles.

For parents who prefer a minimalist, timeless look, this session offers a simple, earthy, and baby-led experience.

It focuses entirely on baby-only portraits, no family or sibling photos are included.

Styling is clean and organic

The session ends with a gentle bubble bath, photographed on the same background for consistency.
This option is perfect if you love natural light, neutral tones, and soft textures — with no distractions from your baby’s unique expressions.

📅 Booking Information
To secure your Cake Smash session, a £60 booking fee is required at the time of booking. This fee reserves your studio time and guarantees your slot, and will be deducted from your final package.
Please note that the booking fee is non-refundable in case of cancellation. However, I completely understand that life with little ones can be unpredictable! If your child becomes unwell or something unexpected comes up, we can always reschedule your session for a more suitable date.
Your session is only confirmed once the booking fee has been received.
✨ Sessions often book up in advance, especially around key birthday months — so early booking is highly recommended to secure your preferred date.
